FIFO
Abbreviation for First In First Out. A method of valuing stocks, or inventory, for accounting purposes based on the assumption that the oldest stock items will be used first and that the value of what remains will be close to the current market price. The balance sheet value of a company's stock will thus be reasonably accurate.
