Municipal Notes
Short-term U.S. securities, typically with a maturity of no more than three years, issued by state and local governments and agencies. Commonly known as 'munis.' Types of municipal notes include tax anticipation notes (TANs), revenue anticipation notes (RANs), grant anticipation notes (GANs), bond anticipation notes (BANs) and tax-exempt commercial paper.
